Dr. Massie dreamt of becoming an equine veterinarian as a child and has served in the veterinary profession for over 20 years. After completing his bachelor's degree at Washington State University, Dr. Massie worked as a mechanic, alligator wrestler, and zookeeper. andria massie

Equine Physiotherapist & Rehabilitation Barn Manager

Andria has been in the performance equine industry for over 30 years. She manages our practice, teaches equine massage & wellness clinics, and designs restorative fitness & rehabilitation programs for our patients. Her wealth of experience rehabbing horses through musculoskeletal manipulation, sports massage, bodywork & fascia release provides relief and comfort to our patients.

Continuing the traditions of her grandfathers, Andria began starting colts at the age of 12, rode show jumpers, then reiners, and founded her business, A2Equine. She continued starting colts and working with troubled horses for the public throughout high school and for her college Animal Science program.  As her horsemanship and experiences grew, she studied classical horsemanship and learned from masters in reining, dressage and bridle horse disciplines. She has been a riding instructor, coached 4-H groups and Pony Club, served on the Ohio REINS program and has been an educator in the equine sector.

Spring of 2024 Andria will travel to work and learn from Jo-Ann Wilson, US Olympic Eventing team Sports Massage Therapist. She is excited to share her new skills with you!

Andria has worked with all different breeds and disciplines, but her current love is training Spanish Mustangs. She no longer trains for the public but is always happy to share her knowledge with our clients.

austin macleod

Farrier & Veterinary Assistant

Austin can't remember a time when horses weren't in his life. He grew up showing Miniature Horses in hand and driving, then moved up to rodeo and drill, dressage, combined driving and endurance.

He cares especially for senior horses and horses with special needs. Dr. Massie and Andria first met Austin before he went to farrier school and were incredibly impressed by the level of care he provided his senior horses - everything from extensively researched nutrition to exercise and hoof care, Austin went above and beyond.

After farrier school Austin consulted with Massie Equine on a number of cases, spoke at their First Aid Clinics, and provides farrier care for the Massie's personal horses. He is the first one Massie Equine calls when handling a youngster. His patience is unparalelled.

In addition to running his own business, Austin MacLeod Professional Farrier Services, Austin assits Dr. Massie with podiatry cases and serves as one of our veterinary assistants both in clinic and on calls.
