EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Open to current high school students in their senior year

Typing skills required

Working knowledge of horses is mandatory

Must have a driver's license or reliable transportation
STUDENTS WILL LEARN & BE ABLE TO

Thoroughly explain deworming requirements

Thoroughly explain vaccine requirements
-
Provide basic grooming
-
Understand and work with behavior issues
-
Provide care to our patients
-
Learn how to administer immunizations & medications
-
Maximize patients’ comfort with a gentle and reassuring manner
-
Provide basic grooming care
-
Understand normal post Anesthesia recovery
-
Collect diagnostic samples & send them off to a laboratory
-
Understand function and operation of veterinary equipment
-
Understand and participate with our pharmacy and inventory process
-
Prep and clean surgery equipment
-
Properly pack a veterinary truck

DAILY OPERATION
-
Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 lbs; requires sitting and standing for extended periods of time
-
May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces
-
May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases
-
